Why is a reserve placed on my credit card?

Modified on Fri, 28 Aug at 11:29 AM

As Float works with your existing credit, and doesn't issue you new credit, the reserve helps to make sure the balance of your purchase is available on your credit card for your instalments.

Remember:

- It is not a charge and is completely interest-free. - The reserve reduces your available credit and may appear as "pending" or "uncleared" in your account. - The reserve may be released by your bank. Even if this amount is released back into your available credit, it remains your responsibility to ensure the outstanding balance is available on your card throughout your instalment plan. - The reserve may be renewed between instalments. You will receive reminders from 7 days before the reserve is renewed.
